I have always loved football and a small group of us decided to form a 5 aside football team. Even though I was overweight I always considered myself to be reasonably fit (or so I thought). When the team shirts were given out mine was the largest possible but even that didn't fit!!

I have been a big chap for a long time. Even at school I was the largest in the class. Carrying my excess weight caused me to get out of breath, tired and cranky all the time. When the creaks in my hips became worse I went to the doctors and I had to have a hip replacement.

Julie Morrissey Embarrassment is a thing of the past
It was after an embarrassing incident at a camping and activity weekend that I realised I had to do something about my weight problem. I made a desperate leap for the only large sleeping bag on offer and grabbed it as though I had won the lottery with everyone looking at me. I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me.
