I joined Weightcare way back in 1990 as I saw pictures from my holiday and couldn’t believe that was me. I found the Weightcare eating plan, which I chose, so easy to follow.

The clubs have a weigh in every week and then an inspirational talk full of ideas and useful information. We discuss our week, different food types and plans for the following week. I found this group discussion really worthwhile, as we were all encouraging and supporting each other. I soon found that I was losing weight and lost a total of two and a half stones. I am proud to say that I have now been at my Target weight for almost twenty years.

Upon reaching my Target weight I started to be more involved at the club and I am now a Consultant for Weightcare at Kettering. I find it so rewarding that I can make a difference to peoples’ lives and see them grow in confidence. I feel so proud of what they have achieved.

We have a range of members - young and old, women and men. They all come to our club and find the atmosphere so friendly and welcoming that they keep coming back.

Every year we have a Slimmer of the Year event and everyone comes together and we celebrate our slimming achievements. My club also likes to have parties throughout the year - Hallowe’en, Christmas, Easter etc. We also like to enjoy a barbecue in the summer. We all contribute towards the food and drinks (all low fat, of course) and we all have a really good night together. It helps to keep spirits high and it allows us to always have an event planned to look forward to.
