Sarah says……
I was 13½ stones and feeling down. I knew I had a weight problem but I didn’t want to admit it to myself. I had recently had a daughter and thought that she was the best excuse I had to keep on eating what I liked. When I started going out with my mates again I thought it would be great - but when I looked around at the other girls, I not only looked terrible in comparison but felt it too. I couldn’t wear the same nice clothes and was conscious of other people looking at me. I just wanted to have a good night out without worrying what I looked like. I was always scared that while I was out on the town someone would be rude to me about my size.
My friend Kayleigh was going to Weightcare and suggested that I went too. I thought I would never be able to lose weight but decided to give it a go. I changed my eating habits and did the Low Fat slimming plan and I enjoyed it! The weight was coming off and I loved it! I even started exercising to a video. Every week I lost weight it inspired me to carry on.
My partner is in the army and didn’t see me for the first 4 weeks. When he returned I’d lost over a stone. He was amazed. He’s never mentioned my weight problem to me – he loved me as I was but now he just keeps on telling me how gorgeous I am. He says now, looking back, he didn’t realise I was so big. When we go out he keeps a close eye on me to make sure I don’t get chatted up!
I can’t describe how wonderful it is to go and buy clothes. I can walk into any shop and know that I can buy anything I want and that I will look as good as my friends. It is a wonderful feeling. I feel so much more confident and love the compliments I get.
